ZINQ - België and ZINQ - Nederland together form the Belgian-Dutch branch of Fontaine Holdings, the largest European group specialising in the hot-dip galvanisation of steel. With over 500 employees spread across branches in Belgium (Pelt, Houthalen, Antwerp, Ghent, Ypres and Charleroi) and the Netherlands (Veenoord), ZINQ galvanises more than 130,000 tonnes of steel every year. In addition to galvanising, the group also offers duplex systems, such as powder coating and wet painting, making it a ‘one-stop shop’ for customers. ZINQ has some of the most advanced plants in Europe and has several quality brands in its portfolio. The patented microZINQ, for example, offers an ultra-thin but extremely durable zinc layer and is popular in the automotive sector. In addition, duroZINQ offers a high-quality standard for hot-dip galvanisation and colorZINQ is ideal for coated galvanised steel. The company further distinguishes itself with its own R&D department, an internal logistics system and numerous certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Cradle to Cradle for its sustainable processes.
Sustainability
The focus on sustainability is at the heart of ZINQ's business strategy. Hot-dip galvanisation of steel is seen as an important link in a circular construction sector because it gives steel a very long lifespan and prevents corrosion. Furthermore, ZINQ uses fully recyclable zinc and, with ecoZINQ, offers an innovative product with a low CO₂ footprint. ecoZINQ combines recycled zinc and zinc made with renewable energy, which contributes to more sustainable construction.
