This course introduces the uses and typical applications of cold formed steel with particular focus on load-bearing light steel framing.
Specific structural design issues related to light steel framing are addressed, including; robustness and avoidance of disproportionate collapse, connection design and floor serviceability conditions. Other specific topics that are covered include: durability, acoustic performance, NHBC Standards Chapter 6.10 and tolerances.
